Dianne provides in-home support for new mothers

Dianne with a focus on caring for new mothers

I am Christchurch born and bred and am married with two married adult daughters and three gorgeous grandchildren aged 10, 5 and 3.

I am a qualified social worker and have spent many years working with families, in a variety of community agencies, in both paid and voluntary roles. One of my roles was in an agency which supported pregnant women and new mothers. It was during my time with this organisation that I became aware of how much the new mothers benefitted from another source of help in the home, when they did not have access to family or other support

In later roles, I became a Plunket Parent Education Coordinator, and Facilitator for their Parent Education groups. Both this, and my more recent experience of working as a co-facilitator for Mothers Supporting Mothers in Rangiora, fuelled my passion for wanting to provide an in home support service for new mothers with babies 0 – 6 months.

I have completed the police vetting requirement.

As a first time parent to twins (one whom was still being tube fed) it was a very difficult time and we felt we were existing rather than living.

Dianne was recommended to us by our Plunket nurse and it wasn’t long before her friendly face showed up at our door and an extra pair of hands were at the ready.

Dianne’s visits were invaluable and allowed us the time to complete our long To Do: list. Dianne was great with the babies and proved to be an excellent listener and support person for myself also.

Dianne’s help and support played a huge part in our transformation from just existing to living our best life and we will be forever grateful!
